The best thermal products share one requirement: an insulation material that holds its temperature, breathes naturally and holds up over time. For decades the industry has defaulted to synthetic, petroleum-based batting that traps moisture, loses structure and sheds microplastics at end of life.
Wisewool™ offers a better ingredient. By mechanically interlocking raw New Zealand strong wool fibres into precise, continuous sheets, we create a stable, breathable insulation layer that regulates temperature naturally, whether inside a cooler bag, a thermal carrier or an insulated lifestyle product. The same material has been integrated into premium puffer jackets, where its natural loft, breathability and biodegradable lifecycle offer a compelling alternative to synthetic down and polyester fill.

Natural thermoregulation: Wool absorbs up to 35% of its own weight in moisture vapour without feeling damp. As conditions change, Wisewool™ releases that moisture into the air, creating a natural thermal buffer that keeps contents, or the wearer at a stable, comfortable temperature.
Dimensional stability & high tensile strength: Our entanglement process organises fibres into low-profile, high-tensile structures that resist clumping, shifting or migrating inside product linings, garment layers and thermal assemblies.
Odour control: Unlike synthetics, which give odour-causing bacteria a surface to thrive on, Wisewool™ benefits from wool's natural odour-resistant properties. The fibre absorbs moisture vapour and binds certain odour-causing compounds within its structure, helping reduce odour build-up across repeated use.

Rather than fragmenting into synthetic microplastics that build up in marine and land ecosystems, Wisewool™ is 100% biodegradable. At the end of its life it breaks down in soil within months, releasing nitrogen, sulphur and potassium back into the earth.
